Arabah Joy and her family spent years on the mission field, and she discovered a great need to study the Bible on her own, without the help of books or written Bible Studies. She shares some of the practical and lifegiving methods she learned and it is so good. Her tips are simple and to the point, and will easily fit into any lifestyle. I've been implementing them myself since our conversation, and LOVE how it enriches my study of God's Word.
About Arabah Joy: Arabah Joy is wife to Jackson, adoptive and biological mom, and world traveler. Her adventures span far and wide, from eating pig snouts to giving birth in three different Asian countries. AJ has experienced the life transforming power of grace, something she writes about in her books, resources, and prayer challenges, including her best-selling 40-day devotional, Trust Beyond Borders. You can connect with Arabah and sign up for her free spiritual growth resources at ArabahJoy.com or shop all her resources at the Arabah Joy Store here. Mommy needs wisdom every. single. day. Usually all day long. It is a big deal to raise kids in this world, and not just because of the influences that come to bare on our children. We moms get influenced too and we really, really want to look good to those around us. We want our kids to be polite and well-behaved and we often parent to that purpose. But what if we are missing the mark and accidentally shunning God's wisdom in the meantime? God has been teaching me some pretty big lessons from the book of James and I'm super excited to share a little with you all.

As our Creator, God understands our quirks and weaknesses, and He has a strength for each of our weaknesses. In this short episode, I share what God has been teaching me about walking in His strength, rather that sticking to my comfort zone: my weaknesses. God has SO much more for us women and moms than we often believe, and it's time to start walking in HIS truth, rather than our fear and insecurities.

If you are a busy woman or a constantly distracted woman, this podcast was recorded just for you (and me!) Ha! Betsy has learned how to pursue God is a consistent way, even though her mind wanders from her to-do list, to her supper plans and on to a friend's troubles while she's on her knees trying to say a prayer. She understands the struggle and she's found some answers. Tune in to hear them - I know you'll love them as much as I did! In fact, this is one of my favorite conversations so far. I had so many questions to ask Betsy, it was really hard to stop! Her advice is so grace-filled and practical. I loved how hands on it all was.
About Betsy: Betsy de Cruz writes and speaks to encourage busy, distracted women to get God’s Word in, so they can live their faith out. Her book More of God is a Distracted Woman’s Guide to More Meaningful Quiet Times. She wrote it to help women take small steps to invite more of God’s presence and power into their lives and find creative ways to enjoy spending time with Him. You can find both print and Kindle versions of More of God on Amazon. Connect with Betsy online atFaithSpillingOver.com, where she shares Bible study and prayer tips, as well as encouragement for faith and family. Listen on iTunes Listen on Stitcher What we talk about:
