Day 14: Parenting Wisdom from Proverbs

“Be strong and courageous and do the work. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you.” (1 Chronicles 28:20 NIV)

“O Lord, be gracious to us; we long for You. Be our strength every morning, our salvation in time of distress.” (Isaiah 33:2 NIV)

Father God, thank you for this land of my home. Help me reflect Your beauty onto each heart in my home so that the harvest of our family may be bountiful, even without measure.

Lord, help me be strong and courageous, willing to do the work you have called me to do. Do not let me fall into despair or discouragement. Be my strength each morning, my peace every evening, my Savior and Rock in times of weariness and distress.

You alone turn my deserts into well-watered gardens. 

Work in me each day, renewing me in You so that I might cultivate a well-watered garden in the land of my home. Make me wise and kind, Lord. Set my heart towards You, giving me the desire to seek You with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength.

Lord, help me provide a model of Your love to my children. Through my words, attitudes, and actions, may they see Your goodness, love, and mercy. Do not let me grow weary in doing good.

Father, anoint my life with Your presence. Shower Your wisdom and peace upon me, making me an advocate of Your love to all those around me. When people come into my presence, may they experience You, Father.

May Your love for them become evident through me, Your willing vessel.

Keep Your eye upon us, guiding us in everything we do. Father, saturate our hearts with Your love, drawing us ever more closely to You.
