Going to God’s Word first of all is not our natural impulse when we find ourselves in the middle of a parenting dilemma, but it is the only place we will find the guidance we need.
Scripture is an all-powerful and all-sufficient guide, and it is always there when we need it. Make it a habit to pray that God gives you a hunger for His Word and to run to it for guidance throughout your day. Let’s pray together. Jesus, thank You for Your Word and the lessons we can learn from it. Give us hearts that are free from judgement. Cause us to look on others as You look at them, rather than through our own clouded vision. Give us boldness to come to Your throne of grace, that we may ask and receive according to Your will. We know You are our good Father and you love to give good things to us. Open our hearts to ask and receive from You. Jesus, we ask for discernment. Show us the narrow gate and give us grace to walk the difficult road leading to it. Lord, we know that Your Word lights up our path like a lamp. Guide us with Your light. Open our eyes to false prophets and false doctrine, Lord. May we meditate on Your Word all day long and so gain understanding and direction beyond ourselves. May Your Word become sweeter to us than honey. We want to build our homes with You as our rock, so that we will not fall. Give us hearts after You and after Your Word, Jesus. Lead us and sanctify us in truth, Jesus. Your Word is truth. based on Matthew 7, Psalm 119:97-105, John 17:17 -Stefani
