Day 11: Psalms of Praise & Thanksgiving

“Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth!” (Psalm 100:1)

This morning, I woke to a photo on Facebook from one of my best friends, commenting on how she loves waking up to her favorite people. Three smiling faces crowded her bed—her man, her son, and her daughter.

But later I had coffee with a heartbroken girl whose young, handsome husband said he wants to divorce her at the end of the month—but she can still live in his apartment.

Sisters, some of us face heartbreak until we're no longer certain our hearts are going to hold together. But in that very place, we find the God who holds it all together never leaves our side.

Right now, I'm walking about in a daze, realizing that in a year I may need to sell this home of my dreams. Life is undeniably altered in a way I never expected, and my mind still can't comprehend it.

But I also can't comprehend the grace of God holding me up. There's a strength I tasted before when my brother passed away, and now I feel it again.

There is no place so broken that God won't come right into and hold you together.

Do you see it? Do you believe it? When you do, glory gates will swing wide open for your soul and you will know, beyond doubt, that your Savior came to save.

This month, whatever you're not thankful for can be a means to turn your heart and home into a hallowed place of praise. Grief was intended to lead us into worship, because everything our circumstance is not, God is.

Allow the tears to wash your heart clean, then get back up and walk, always forward. Thank Jesus, because He only us leads UP!
