Hi sweet lady!
It's upon us again. This wonderful, crazy, fun and super busy time of year we call "the Holiday Season." Maybe it actually makes you feel a little stressed out. I know I can feel that way sometimes. I start thinking of all the traditions I want to implement with our family, all the yummy things I want to bake and all of the gorgeous decorations I want to set up. And I think of all the charts and lists I should be making, so I don't get overwhelmed. And the thought of those lists make me feel...stressed out. See, when it comes to the Holiday season, I'm kinda like the cute little pig in "If You Give A Pig a Pancake". {I hear there's a new -possibly holiday themed?- one out there now - "If you Give a Mouse a Brownie"!} My story goes kinda like this... "When I see a fall garland on Pinterest I go to Joann Fabric and buy the burlap. Being in Joann reminds me that Michael's has their craft twine on sale. Buying the craft twine reminds me that I want to host a Christmas tea party for all the 4 year-olds in the neighborhood. So I go look at the party ware. Looking at the party ware reminds me of that unorganized closet of party supplies in the house. When I start cleaning out the closet, I find a Fall sign I had forgotten about.
I decide it would look great on the piano, so I take everything off the piano and redecorate it.
When I finish that, I decide to move the old piano decor to the dining room and then I think that some of the dining room decor would look amazing on the front porch, so I go to the store to buy giant pumpkins and straw bales to go with it. Being at the store reminds me of the fall garland I never made..." Can you relate? I'm sure I'm not the only holiday loving, unorganized Mom out there. And I'm probably not the only one that doesn't actually like that part of me very much. But do you know what? You might be a little crazy, a little unorganized and inefficient and you might not get everything done that you want to. But... You are just how God made you. You are you, and please...stay you.
The world needs you, just like God created you to be.
You're house might not look like your favorite Instagram feed. {There's some lovely ones out there!} You may never feel like you can join in on some of those lovely and perfect hashtags that are flying around. {Seriously, how can someone have so many perfect places in their house to fit so many of those hashtags?} But it's ok. Simplify your life and just be you. You're definitely best that way! Love, Another Crazy, Holiday Loving & Unorganized Mom. {That would be me}
p.s. I'd love to see your crazy holiday celebrations - share a pic on IG and use the hastag #justmycrazyholiday This will be fun!

Oh my goodness, you completely described me! Going from one thought to another. I am known as the one that does all the holiday parties and football parties and birthday parties. Any kind of party possible. So during this season so many people at church will come up to me asking for dates and times for the annual Christmas morning brunch and baking exchange party and then my mind acts just like you described lol

Haha! Oh yes - I'm a party person too. and I love big parties. I keep trying to learn to be more organized. ;) But I'm learning to just enjoy them and relax a little.

LOL - I'm organized but I feel like I'm never organized enough! This was some refreshing encouragement. I often feel "lack" when I see all the "perfect" photos but there's more to those pictures that we don't see. Plus our identity IS in Christ... not in our homes or our holiday decor.

I am pretty sure you are super organized! Still, it can be hard just embrace the person God made us to be, can't it? You are lovely, Jennifer! <3

I am on a journey to know Jesus better, and be the wife, mommy and friend that God created me to be, all within the walls of my own little home. <3
